What is EURES

What is EURES?

Set up in 1993, EURES - European Employment Services - is a cooperation network designed to facilitate the free movement of workers within the European Economic Area (The EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein); Switzerland is also involved. Partners in the network include public employment services, trade union and employers' organisations. The network is coordinated by the European Commission.

 

 

The main objectives of EURES are:

- to inform, guide and provide advice to potentially mobile workers on job opportunities as well as living and working conditions in the European Economic Area;

- to assist employers wishing to recruit workers from other countries; and

- to provide advice and guidance to workers and employers in cross-border regions.

EURES services for citizens and employers are to provide:

information from the databases published on the EURES portal  (European job mobility portal);

- information and advice offered by over EUR 1000 EURES advisers from all EURES member countries.

EURES Bulgaria as part of National Employment Agency, Bulgaria provides via its renewed internet site https://eures.bg/index.php?lang=bg a variety of services for jobseekers and employers FREE OF CHARGE.

Bulgarian and foreign employers can FREE OF CHARGE register on their own companies/organizations and publish their job vacancies independently. These registrations are checked by administrators of the website and are approved for one working day.

Services to jobseekers are provided FREE OF CHARGE – registration, creation and uploading of CVs within the website, application for the advertised job vacancies they are interested in.

The application process is performed in real time and employers can check CVs and resumes submitted for a specific job in their profile.

All these services are FREE OF CHARGE both for employers and jobseekers.

IMPORTANT!!! EURES Bulgaria is not responsible for cases where private intermediary agencies have posted jobs on the national EURES website and do not provide for free follow-up recruitment services to the applicants! Please pay attention that according to art. 28 par. 7 of the Bulgarian Employment Promotion Act intermediary agencies perform employment activities obligatory free of charge – without gathering fees directly or indirectly, entirely or partly from jobseekers or people already hired, whereas they can gather fees only from employers to whom they provide services.
