1. What is EURES?

The European employment services (EURES) is a European cooperation network between the European Commission, the European Labour Authority (ELA), the national public services in all the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland and other admitted organizations. The main goal is to facilitates the free movement of workers by providing information, consultation and mediation services.

This website of EURES Bulgaria belongs to the National Employment Agency which is the Public Employment Service in Bulgaria and is member of the EURES Network. EURES National Coordination Office is also within the National Employment Agency. You can see the other organizations admitted as EURES members or partners in Bulgaria here.

2. Do I have to pay for the EURES services?

EURES offers services free of charge.

Employers and intermediary agencies are not allowed to charge jobseekers for starting work.

3. How can I apply for the job vacancies at the website www.eures.bg?

You need to register with the role “jobseeker”. After that from Job vacancies-Employee Control panel- My resume use the “add resume” button to fill in or attach your CV. Then click the button “apply” under the chosen job offer.

4. What information is there in the section “Living and working conditions”?

In this section you can find an article about each country from the EURES network – all the member states of the EU, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The information is divided in the following paragraphs: Finding a job; Applying for a job; Finding accommodation; Recognition of diplomas and qualifications; Kinds of employment; Seasonal work; Employment contracts; Working time; Leave; Remuneration; End of employment; Health system; Income and taxation; Education system; Cultural and social life; Links.

5. How can I turn to a EURES adviser? How long will it take to receive an answer?

The EURES advisers are trained experts in the field of labour mobility. They are officers of the National Employment Agency.

The EURES advisers in Bulgaria are specialized to work with concrete countries. You can see their contacts and distribution for countries here. The standard time for responding to an e-mail inquiry is up to 5 working days.

You can also receive information about the EURES services at the Local Labour Offices of the Employment Agency.

You can also contact EURES National Coordination Office that is also part of the Employment Agency.

6. Where else can I look for job offers for a concrete country?

  •  In the section “Find a job” at the EURES Portal for job mobility. The Portal contains all the actual at the moment job vacancies announced by the public employment services in the countries from the EURES network. You can see how to use the Portal in this video.
  •  At the platform European Job Days. You can see more about the platform in this video and how to register here.
  •  In each article about Living and Working there are specific ways for finding a job in a concrete country. One of them is through the Public Employment Service.
